We now have an incredible opportunity for a Finance Director to join our senior leadership team and play a fundamental role in helping us achieve our mission by leading and delivering our financial strategy. This will involve taking overall responsibility for our over £82m budget as well as the financial stewardship of the world’s leading independent conservation organisation.
Reporting to our Executive Director of Operations and Strategy, you will work to ensure we use funds in a way that demonstrates best value for money in spending the income our supporters generate, guarantee first-class financial governance and control as well as underpin the financial sustainability of the organisation. Responsible for overall strategic financial management, we will look to you to deliver value through rigorous cost control and the effective use of resources as well as by engaging with senior colleagues to drive continuous improvement in finance systems processes, management information and structures to help us deliver our mission and strategy to bring our world back to life. You will enjoy the opportunity to operate across the business to deliver critical programmes on climate change, the food system and conservation and restoration, as well as on our internally-focused programmes of work. You will also coach and develop a large team of over 20 finance professionals to deliver a partnering service that meets ever evolving business needs. In addition, you will manage our Procurement function to make certain we achieve maximum value for money from supplier spend. You will oversee our Treasury function too, including cash at bank, investments and foreign exchange.
Effective at coaching and developing high performing finance teams, you will be a qualified accountant with extensive post qualification experience. You will be used to managing Procurement and Treasury functions too. Used delivering effective change processes, you will possess strong communication, influencing and relationship building skills. You will the type of person who sets priorities and delivers at pace, and continually challenges the status quo. An effective networker, you will promote and encourage cross department working too. Critically, you will be comfortable anticipating, understanding and responding to the needs of internal and external clients. You will also have an affinity with the mission and vision of WWF-UK.
Experience of working in an international Network organisation or the charity sector would be an advantage.
