As Restoration Catalyst Manager Restoration Catalyst Manager you will be involved in a joint venture with BirdLife International and the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) delivering a shared vision: By mid-century, through concerted collective action by all sectors of society, one trillion trees have been re-grown, saved from loss and better protected around the world.
We are advocating for natural forest loss to have ended by 2030 and for 350 million hectares of forest landscapes to be under restoration. We are mobilising political, economic and social forces to achieve that aim and need your expertise to make sure we are successful.
As Restoration Catalyst Manager you will act as a key link between WWF and the Trillion Trees partnership in developing propositions that enable forest landscape restoration. You will work to make sure these are strategic, ambitious, effectively planned and budgeted for. This will involve you in managing the funding pipeline to ensure that the catalyst fund is resourced as well as in coordinating across the partnership to support joint fundraising efforts. You will develop funding relationships and take responsibility for establishing and managing a pipeline of WWF landscapes that are suitable for the catalyst fund. You will monitor, provide reporting and ensure WWF-UK standards and quality assurance requirements are met too. You will also collaborate with partners to proactively identify new funding and communications opportunities. Important, will be the ability to work with colleagues to create plans, assess risk, monitor progress and control budgets for Trillion Trees programme activities.
To play your part in saving our world, you will have a Masters degree in environmental science or biodiversity conservation coupled with experience of overseeing conservation projects in the field, especially covering global forest conservation and restoration. Comfortable delivering projects on-time and within budget, you will be used to bringing together a wide range of stakeholders and collaborative working. You will also be able to demonstrate expertise in developing, managing and monitoring the delivery of international conservation and/or development programmes and/or grant making. You will possess a good understanding of biodiversity and habitats, climate mitigation and adaptation and social issues in relation to land management too. In addition, you will be used to developing high-quality funding proposals and possess excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
