As a talented and creative Front End Developer we can think of no better use for your skills than helping to shape the websites of the world's leading independent conservation organisation in one of the most crucial decades in human history.
Our world is under threat like never before. We need a global deal to save our planet and for people to come together to reverse the decline of nature and prevent catastrophic climate change. As a Developer we want you to use our digital products to change the hearts and minds of individuals, businesses, and government to help deliver on our mission of a world where people and nature thrive together.
Working collaboratively with colleagues you will identify and create the best content for users based on their needs, while delivering against organisational objectives. This will include developing front-end code for websites as well as maintaining and adding functionality to several digital products, including www.wwf.org.uk and footprint.wwf.org.uk.
You will work with the UX team to create new web components, ensuring outputs meet brand guidelines, coding standards, accessibility standards, and usability best practice. You will create HTML/SCSS/JavaScript that will bring designs to life across devices as well as improve on our existing front-end code from an aesthetic, performance and maintainability standpoint. In addition, you will build prototypes to demonstrate new ideas and interfaces, working closely with our Back End Drupal Developer.
To play your part in saving our planet you must have excellent knowledge of creating responsive, mobile first designs using HTML, SCSS, JavaScript/jQuery. You will have experience of wireframing and mock-up tools as well as the ability to turn ideas into prototypes.
You will be the sort of person who is able to operate independently or as part of a team and enjoys working a busy environment and meeting deadlines. You will also be a problem solver with the capability to think laterally and learn new technologies.
Knowledge of Git as well as experience of using Drupal and working with working with frameworks such as Vue, React and tailwind as well as designing for complex content management systems would be an advantage.
